Rain blighting crops--please pray!

#1

Dear souls, please pray for the Lord to grant the early rains and the late rains, as the BIble says, but in moderation! The sweet corn and tomatoes we have in are rotting in the field due to almost daily rains here in the midwest. The crops that are maturing properly still have to be harvested and that can’t be done when everything is so wet. The balance of daytime temperatures when it is not raining are in the high nineties, and tomatoes can’t set fruit when it is searing hot. The old folks are waiting on their corn and tomatoes and we all need a proper wheat, corn and soybean harvest and so on. So thank You, Lord, for the delightful rains that have relieved the intense heat. Temper the weather to provide crops and make us truly lavish in donating to the poor of our respective parishes, dear Lord, to ease the bind on families. And Lord, make us organized into farm & garden food cooperatives so we need never buy retail again, and can process foods on a community basis. Keep us free from sin, dear Lord, and always observant of Your day of rest.

Keep the wild wind from lodging the wheat,
Keep the sun mild for tomatoes sweet,
Keep the rain quenching, not drenching the heat,
Keep the farmer’s heart so the poor can all eat. AMEN

Father we ask moderation regarding rain in these regions where they are excessive. Please assure the livelihood of these good people who are doing their best to provide food for others and for themselves. I ask You in the name of Jesus Your divine Son who shares our humanity and who ate food that others grew and harvested.

Hail Mary,
full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the Fruit Of Thy Womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death.
Amen
