Really good Books to Buy

I Have Bought The Current Books

A Roman Missal

A Biblical walk through Of The Mass ( book set )

Jesus Living in Mary

Divine Mercy In My Soul : DIARY Of St. Maria Faustina Kowalska

Answering Jehovah Witness : Jason Evert

These are the Book i’ve bought recently I’m Adding to my Catholic Book Collection .

A nice variety of great books!

Sounds good to me.

Might I also suggest anything written by Pope Benedict XVI, esp. his Jesus of Nazareth series (among the best theological reflections of the life of Christ that I’ve read). He is the most profound theologian the Roman Catholic Church has produced in the modern era. I’m surprised his books are not referred to more often.

Patristic Theology by Fr. John Romanides

Monastic Wisdom by Elder Joseph the Hesychast

The Ascetical Homilies of Saint Isaac the Syrian

The Ladder of Divine Ascent by St. John Climacus

I would also read them in that order.

The Fundamentals of Catholic Dogma Ludwig Ott

The Catechism of the Catholic Church

The Faith of the Early Fathers- William Jurgens

Vatican II Documents

I suggest you get, read, and share with Catholics and Protestants the following book written in the 18th Century…

Abandonment to Divine Providence
Fr. Jean-Pierre de Caussade

It will remind you of “let go, Let God”…an old message made popular today…

Absolutely manditory:thumbsup:

The Lamb’s Supper by Dr. Scott Hahn, (ANYTHING by Hahn is fabulous!).

Hahn’s CD on the 4th Cup is one of the best things I have ever heard on the Eucharist - He ties in the 4 cups of Wine drunk at the Passover with the Songs: 3rd cup Little Hallel Ps 105, 106, etc.& 4th cup the Big Hallel Ps115, 116, 117 (my memory is shaky on all the psalms right now).

Also if you didn’t eat the Lamb, your first born would die… Utterly Fabulous!

Jurgen’s series hard to find but INDISPENSABLE

Crossing the Tiber by Steve Ray - chocked full.

Born Fundamentalist, Born Again Catholic by David Currie - love the chart that pertains to the Bishop of Rome vs. all the other Bishops of ancients Sees that promoted heresies of one type or another vs. the Roman Bishop who NEVER HAS. Love that chart!

I’m going to get Mark Shea’s series on the Blessed Mother heard a real tour de force. Hahn’s book on Mary is excellent.

Inside Mormonism by Isaiah Bennett former RC priest turned Mormon turned RC is very helpful too.
