Remember the prayer request for my BIL's job? Well, he was laid off

*I heard from his wife today, his last day will be 9/30. On the one hand, you think…well, at least they gave me notice…on the other hand…he has to put on a happy face, and interact with clients for the next month…acting like this company is the best thing ever. Kind of a catch 22. I feel badly for them…he is very marketable, an IT programmer, not sure how in demand they are right now? Basically, his company was bought out by another one, and his job was eliminated…he was told they are going to "outsource’’ it. :(Please pray that he finds suitable employment soon. *

Those who began the recession by their greed have a lot to answer for, the lost of jobs ad the distress and losses of so many families.

I ask You Lord to be merciful to ordinary families who bear the burden of others’ sins.
Please help them to find justice, and secure and happy employment, so that they can support their families and live without unfair stress.

Please help Sharon’s brother-in-law to find work soon. Please also help the other employees who are also dismissed.

You are so right, Trishie…meanwhile, I bet the CEO could spare these jobs, but wants to shave a few pennies so his stock price doesn’t shift. I know the game. :mad: You’re right, it makes me so sad…here is a hard working man, trying to support his family, save some money, and send his kid to Catholic school…and he’s let go…the whole dept is let go! Because someone found a way "to do things cheaper.’’ Pretty soon, will we all be replaced with robots or something? Makes you wonder. Your prayers are soooo appreciated! Thanks! :hug1:

Our Father, who art in heaven,
hallowed be thy name;
thy kingdom come;
thy will be done
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread;
and forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Hail Mary,
full of grace,
the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit of thy womb,
Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Lord, please help Bil find a new job soon after he leaves his old job. May he draw strength from you in the Blessed Sacrament and get to daily Mass when he leaves his job next month until he finds new employment. He could use the intimacy with you and the graces that will come from receiving you. Help him meet all his needs, Lord. Thank you for hearing my prayer. Amen.

*Thank you so much everyone for your prayers…they need them! My MIL told my dh a few days ago, that at least he will get a few months of severence pay until he can find something else. The odd thing is that she said he signed a non compete…but I don’t imagine that’d apply if someone is let go …I think those apply only when you resign…but I could be wrong.

I’ll be praying everyday that he finds a suitable replacement for this job…thanks again everybody.*

Has Bil ever looked at teaching IT to anyone? I’m sure there are teaching IT programming positions that he could fill and help his pocket book as well as help someone who is looking into IT programming. I will pray for Bil, but this recession’s a doosie it’s playing heck with everyone. I hope Bil finds some sort of work…no matter what kind it is, it’s better than no job at all.

Our Father who art in heaven. Hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. Lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, Amen.
