Personally, I don't view incidents like this as if the sky is falling. I don't blame Obama for Benghazi, Bush for Karachi, Taskkent, Jeddah, Damascus, etc or Reagan for Beirut. Stuff like this happens and the bureaucracy has never been capable of handling it. People need to have realistic expectations of their government and ours is not and has never been an all seeing eye or lightning fast juggernaut.
You obfuscate. The issue has not been the failures with respect to security but the lies that followed and the failure to take responsiblity as well as make an effort to find those who murdered our people.
If on September 12th Obama and Hillary had come out, explained that our Consulate had been attacked by radical Islamists with ties to Al Qaeda, that they were devastated by the loss of life and the injuries suffered, and that we would go to the end of the earth to bring the perpetrators to justice, then I believe the American people would have accepted the reality that places like Benghazi are dangerous and sometimes bad things happen.
Had Hillary and the Pentagon demanded a full investigation with what went wrong, what could have been done, and what will be done in the future to avoid such tragedies, then the lapses in security might have forgiven.
The reality though was that the all ran like roaches when the lights go on. The supposed review board was little more than foxes inspecting the henhouse, without bothering to interview those in Libya like Hicks, nor Hillary Clinton whom we now know was at least apprised of the details. What kind of investigation is that? Let's have CREEP investigate Watergate right?
You know the saying, oh what tangled webs we weave when we practice to deceive. It has become more and more difficult to escape.
