Russia To Debate Taking Children Away From Gay Parents

#1

Russian lawmakers will in February debate a bill that could see homosexual couples lose custody of their children, parliamentary documents showed Wednesday.

This is horrifying.

Given that homosexual couples tend to produce worse outcomes for children, are more likely to abuse children, and the fact that they will raise their children to support grave immorality, I think Russia is taking a reasonable stance. We’ve seen from what’s happening in the US that you cannot tolerate homosexuality and still expect a moral society.

#3

The claims you’ve made are not supported by any credible studies.

#4

Russia had better buckle up for the international hell we’ll raise if they do this.

#5

I’d rather see a country moving in the direction of Russia, taking kids away, than in adopting them out to homosexuals (and closing down the Catholic adoption unit at the same time) like in the US.

#6

I don’t support allowing gay parents to adopt in the first place, but I object to the removal of children from stable family units, even if the family unit is immoral. If a kid has grown up 10 years with the same 2 parents, why should they be thrown out of that family and thrown into a foster care system that’s broken?

#7

With a homosexual couple, at least one (if not both) isn’t the natural parent. But in America kids get taken away from their natural parents. It’s called “Child Protective Services”.

#8

Agreed.

Implying Russia cares what other countries think about the laws they pass, which they don’t.

#9

The claims you’ve made are not supported by any credible studies.

The first claim, about the poor outcomes for children, are supported by a recent Canadian study and the New Family Structures Study, primarily based on research from the University of Texas. These are among the few studies that use large, randomized samples to draw their conclusions. The U of Texas study also addresses my second claim, about the likelihood of having been abused.

Only in cases of severe abuse or neglect, and it requires quite a bit of evidence on a parent for the kid to be confiscated. CPS is not nearly as intrusive as people make it out to be.

Are homosexual relationships detrimental to society?

Global AIDS Timeline:

“1981 -CDC reports first cases of rare pneumonia in young gay men – later determined to be
AIDS-related – in June 5 Morbidity and Mortality Weekly Report (MMWR). This marks
the official beginning of the HIV/AIDS epidemic.” - CDC

**Fast Facts about AIDS **

“1 in 5 Gay/Bi Men Have HIV, Nearly Half Don’t Know” - WebMD

Gay and bisexual men are more severely affected by HIV than any other group in the United States .” - CDC

“Among all gay and bisexual men, blacks/African Americans bear the greatest disproportionate burden of HIV.” – CDC

“From 2008 to 2010, HIV infections among young black/African American gay and bisexual men increased 20%.” – CDC

“Fighting HIV among African Americans is not mutually exclusive with fighting HIV among gay and bisexual men. Efforts to reduce HIV among Blacks must confront the epidemic among Black gay and bisexual men as forcefully as existing efforts to confront the epidemic among other groups.” - Obama

“Roughly three-fourths of HIV/AIDS cases in the United States are among men, the majority of whom are gay and bisexual men.” - Obama

Gay and bisexual men have comprised the largest proportion of the HIV epidemic in the United States since the first cases were reported in the 1980s, and that has not changed. They still comprise the greatest proportion of infections nationally.” - Obama

“CDC reports that HIV diagnoses among young gay men (ages 13-24) of all races and ethnicities rose between 2001 and 2006.” – Obama

If there are more heterosexuals with AIDS it’s because there are more heterosexuals. Homosexuals only make up about 2% of the population. One of the primary ways AIDS got into the heterosexual population is because of bisexual men. According to the CDC and President Obama…

Gay, bisexual, and other men who have sex with men (MSM) represent approximately 2% of the US population, yet are the population most severely affected by HIV. In 2010, MSM accounted for 63% of all new HIV infections” – CDC

“Given the starkness and the enduring nature of the disparate impact on gay and bisexual men, it is important to significantly reprioritize resources and attention on this community. The United States cannot reduce the number of HIV infections nationally without better addressing HIV among gay and bisexual men…Even though gay and bisexual men comprise only two percent of the U.S. population (4 percent of men)” – Obama (bold emphasis given in Obama’s 2010 Whitehouse report)

“Disparities in HIV infection also exist between gay and bisexual men and heterosexual populations. Recently, the CDC announced that gay and bisexual men in the United States are 44 to 86 times more likely to become infected with HIV than heterosexual men, and 40 to 77 times more likely to become infected than women.” – Obama

Gay and bisexual men comprise the majority of people with HIV who have died in the United States.” - Obama

“In research with 942 nonclinical adult participants, gay men and lesbian women reported a significantly higher rate of childhood molestation than did heterosexual men and women. Forty-six percent of the homosexual men in contrast to 7% of the heterosexual men reported homosexual molestation. Twenty-two percent of lesbian women in contrast to 1% of heterosexual women reported homosexual molestation. This research is apparently the first survey that has reported substantial homosexual molestation of girls. Suggestions for future research were offered.” - California School of Professional Psychology

One can assert a parallel to Newton’s law here to explain what’s going on in Russia: When one body exerts a force on a second body, the second body simultaneously exerts a force equal in magnitude and opposite in direction to that of the first body.

According to the OP, the Russian Duma considering taking children away from gay parents is horrifying. The majority of Russians think that open homosexuality, gay ‘marriage’ and adoption are horrifying.

As for the international hell that Russia needs to prepare for, who will raise it? The LGBTs with the help of their friends in the media and Hollywood? Obama and Cameron in their brand of cultural imperialism? With boycott of the Sochi games, maybe?

Russia is not alone in its resentment of this cultural imperialism. In Eastern European countries like Latvia and Poland, one frequently hears the argument that homosexuality is a lifestyle that is being promoted and imposed on the country by the West. In African countries and in South Asian country of Pakistan, the governments there carry the same antagonism against the push for homosexual agenda in exchange for foreign aid.

“Gay parents” does not compute.

“Gay adoptive parents” is more accurate … even if ONE of them actually IS the biological parent.

Adoptive parents do get monitored sometimes. Heck, even biological parents can lose custody of their kids for a variety of reasons.

Featuring the word “gay” sensationalizes the story. As does suppressing the word “adoptive”.

They are only debating it now. I wonder if gays have been getting preferential treatment in
obtaining adoptions vs. traditional couples (in the US). I wouldn’t be surprised if they are as the agenda is being pushed hard by the media and certain political groups that have power. In my opinion. I have known some “traditional couples” who have to wait a long time and have to walk through the fire of bureaucratic scrutiny and interference to be able to adopt.

I will also say that sometimes Government oversight oversteps itself in this field. That is, sometimes the state breaks up families (or partial families) in the name of doing what is best for the child … in such a ham-handed way that the children are harmed psychologically (or physically if the NEW place they are moved to is even LESS safe than their former home).

Russia is a nation that for a long time “encouraged” Western decadence so that it would look better (Cold War Years); yet seeing the damage done, they were far less “liberal” at home … except in their publishings.

Before conferring automatic virtue on “gay” people and championing their being able to access an express line re: adoptions; consider the harm that was done when some gay men in the Church were trusted too much (even after problems surfaced) and harmed children of their same sex.

Taking children away is something that could have been prevented by simply not allowing the practice in the first place. The former practice is much more extreme in its consequences when one considers the children first and the political group second.

From the headline, I’d deduce Russia was also “debating” prevention of “gay couple” adoptions in the future.

Without rancor or emotion, I’m interested in what happens. America should too, and learn. IMO.

 Epic informative post. Thanks for all your research. :sad_yes:

by credible you mean supported by the gay community?

Of course, because the State always does such a bang up job of bringing up kids in institutions - and Russian orphanages are particularly good.

Kids are better off in a same sex marriage than in a Russian orphanage.

Disturbing Facts
[LIST]
*]There are over 1 million children living in institutions in Russia today. (Many believe this number to be closer to 2 million.)
*]
*]An addition of approximately 1.5 – 2 million are living on the streets.

*]The situation for orphan children and children at risk is becoming worse and the number of these kids entering into the orphanage is on the rise.

*]Survival statistics for orphans once they leave the orphanages are abysmal. Many directors, as well as officials in the department of Education for St Petersburg, claim that only around 10 – 20% of orphans “survive” within a few years of leaving the orphanages. By “survive” they meant not becoming a drug addict, a prostitute, a homeless person, or put in prison after they leave the orphanage.

*]According to the Russian Procuracy General, around 15,000 orphans “graduate” from the orphanages every year. Within a few years of graduation, of the 15,000 graduates, 30% will be unemployed, 35% will be homeless, 20% will have criminal records, and 10% will commit suicide.
*]
*]As the HIV/AIDS epidemic in Russia explodes (AIDS in Russia is growing faster than in any other country in the world), orphans become an increasingly at-risk group.

The only study that was unbiased (random samples, asking adult children who had been adults for a while, rather than the parents of young kids) showed negative outcomes. This does not mean that all kids are abused or have problems, though. It just means that they are more likely to have these problems in a same-sex household when compared to being raised in an intact home with both biological parents.

I do not think children should be taken away from their families, as this can be very damaging. Only in extreme circumstances should this be allowed.

I support this because Natural Law clearly shows that one man and one woman with their children is what God intended. When one does things that go against Natural Law then things are going to go wrong. So I support this because I believe that it is best for the children to be raised in a true family which is one man and one woman and their children.

A child living with same sex actively homosexual parents IS being abused by having an example of a disordered lifestyle lived out right in front of them and taught that grave immoral activities are ok. I’d say the same about a family where the parents were engaged in any sort of grave immoral activity whether it was being drug dealers or violent gangs etc as well as active homosexuality. One of the main problems in our world is people being raised by those who have disordered moral compasses and it just needs to come to a squeaking halt. We have come to such an all time low that we care more about some 3% of any society being allowed to continue disordered behavior which has absolutely decimated even those not in those 3% all over the world rather then how to help developing countries become self-sufficient. That means homosexuals have more rights to disordered sex then a school child has to a bowl of rice grown due to developed nations teaching new farming methods to the adults of their community. This is worse then outrageous and it makes you wonder just why Obama is so adamant in his approach to this. Not to mention the absolute fact that using condoms and more and more acceptance of the LGBT lifestyle has done absolutely nothing to decrease the new cases of AIDS in this country and in other developed countries where they are also pushing the LGBT agenda. But, as with abortion, let’s not let facts about the situation get in our way. More power to Russia and all the other nations who are trying to stem the tide of this darkness into their cultures.

Where are the “one man and one woman” in a state run orphanage?
