Saints?

#1

I was praying the Way of the Cross at a different church, and when I got to Simon of Cyrene I noticed that his small children: (Rufus and Alexander, I believe) were in the background, and both had halos. Are they considered saints by some sort of pious legend?

Yes, they are both listed in the index as saints - and were said to have become missionaries/leaders in the church.

Hope this helps…

Sure did; why wouldn’t it have?

I’d never heard that before.

They are both named in the New Testament:
*]Mar 15:21 And they compelled a passer-by, Simon of Cyrene, who was coming in from the country, the father of Alexander and Rufus, to carry his cross.
That is all that is said of them: the implication is that they were known to the hearers of the gospel.

I understand; that would make sense.
