Hard to make judgements, one obvious observation is it’s over the rain forest meaning I guess it is being absorbed there(?).

No, it is because the locals are cutting down the forests and burning them.

Just to be clear, the map is distinguishing between 387 and 402 part per million, or in other words, .00000387% and .00000402% of the atmosphere.

For what its worth.

It’s a huge area, I’m not sure if I buy that is the reason per a satellite photo for a moment in time or moments in time. I’m sure some of the worlds metropolises would be putting out more waste. Not sure why cutting down trees would do that.
