SAUDI ARABIA - In Saudi Arabia, 514 women's clothing stores closed for still having male staff [AN]

The fines in accordance with law that imposes shops that sell clothes and underwear or cosmetics for women to have only female staff. The inspections also check the status of foreign workers.

a continuation of the isolation of women in Muslim countries. Next, there will be a crack down on what type of clothes are sold in these stores because many of them do carry western style clothes which are worn under the traditional garb. It's another example of the shift to a more radical Islam which is not pro-women.

Ludicrous. Especially since, where I come from, middle-aged men are some of the best workers in large clothing stores, especially when looking for something for a special occasion. (My mother would be the first to tell you that.) ;)

The hardening of Islam continues... :(
