Saved are Olympic winners

#1

My Bible Alone Rapture believer friend from Calvary Chapel said the saved are like Olympic winners. When the Bible says we are judged by our works it means that those who are saved are like Olympic winners you first have to qualify at the lower levels. When you are in heaven you get different prizes(1st,2nd etc)but just being in heaven( the Olympics) means you are a winner(saved). I told him this is a tradition of men not supported by the Bible. He did not respond and that usualy means he does not believe what I am telling him.

I wouldn’t necessarily disagree with him, but I would point out that olympic atheletes don’t just get into the Olympics by saying “I believe in the Olympics and accept them into my heart.” They have to train hard (i.e. do works) just to qualify for the Olympics.

Yeah, and Olympic atheletes or not, if they slack off on the training, start drinking and smoking, they don’t win the medals.http://forums.catholic.com/images/icons/icon10.gif

Haven’t some atheletes been stripped of their medals?
