Scattering ashes wrong, 1st class relics good?

Quick question, Why is it wrong to scatter the ashes of a cremated person but its OK to scatter parts of a saint around the world in the form of first class relics.

My guess, and it’s only a guess, is there is a difference. Relics are not thrown on the ground or into a stream. They are kept in reliquary and venerated.

Take my opinion for what it’s worth. I’m not going to debate the issue. It is a good question though.

I didn’t even know that the scattering of ashes was bad…so why is it bad? I thought that either way is “ashes to ashes and dust to dust” so it didn’t matter.
