Scientists say Gulf of Maine’s once-strong population of wild blue mussels is disappearing abcn.ws/2c0seGa
Blue mussels are an important indicator species.
Could have told them that. The mussel bar that was outside my family’s old vacation cottage for over a century has been slowly dying off for the last two decades.
I was watching a Nat Geo television program about how an unusually cold [and longer] winter was threatening the Bison herd.
There was another program about northern Alaska, in which all of the animals had disappeared. Very cold. And bears were being especially nasty.
Sounds like some kind of nornal and natural cycles at work.
Nature is not about all nice and predictable.
