This Canadian congregation had its roots in their local Society of St. Vincent de Paul. One of their members compassionated the women prisoners of Quebec City, and set out to found a new community. Their official church name is the “Servants of the Immaculate Heart of Mary”. Due to the kind of work they were doing, the people named them the Good Shepherd Sisters of Quebec.
