Signs of hope in the mainstream media

#1

Have you seen or heard anything in the mainstream media that is a sign of hope? Something that shows that there is a deep desire to love and praise God, even if it can sometimes be misdirected or confused?

As an example, there was a song by Rod Stewart that I had heard many times before as a song to a loved one, but I had never listened to it as if it were a prayer to God. I don’t know if he intended it that way, but it actually makes for a beautiful prayer:

Have I told you lately that I love you.
Have I told you there’s no one else above you.
You fill my heart with gladness take away all my sadness
Ease my troubles, that’s what you do.
And at the end of the day,
We should give thanks and praise,
to the One.

Another one is by KD Lang, that seems to hear God calling but isn’t quite sure who it is or where it’s coming from:
Even through the darkest phase
Be it thick or thin
Always someone marches brave
Here beneath my skin

Constant craving
Has always been

Maybe a great magnet pulls
All souls towards truth
Or maybe it is life itself
That feeds wisdom
To it’s youth

Constant craving
Has always been

A final example is this John Denver song – when directed towards God, it sounds almost like a Psalm:
You fill up my senses
Like a night in the forest
Like the mountains in springtime
Like a walk in the rain
Like a storm in the desert
Like a sleepy blue ocean
You fill up my senses
Come fill me again

Come let me love you
Let me give my life to you
Let me drown in your laughter
Let me die in your arms
Let me lay down beside you
Let me always be with you
Come let me love you
Come love me again

Let me give my life to you
Come let me love you
Come love me again

You fill up my senses
Like a night in the forest
Like the mountains in springtime
Like a walk in the rain
Like a storm in the desert
Like a sleepy blue ocean
You fill up my senses
Come fill me again
