Ave Maria!
What Latin words do Vulgate Bible use when talking about “silence”?

There is a geat essay about different Hebrew words for silence. What are the Latin words for silence used in OT?

 what does that mean?

Hail Mary.

It’s the glorious words of greeting that the Archangel spoke to Our Lady as he proposed the mystery of the Incarnation to her.

Most seem to be forms of *silentium, sileo, *and *taceo *(including its perfect passive participle tacitus). Once that I have found *obtumesco *and once (in the Nova Vulgata) tranquilitas.

Nova Vulgata???

Updated Latin Bible.

how does this version differ from the glorious Vulgate?
