silly question....

…tomorrow I will be attending my first TLM. are their aids available, normally, in the pews in order to help us “newbies” follow along?

also, I would prefer to not wear a suit. Are slacks, dress shirt and tie with a nice sweater vest appropriate attire?

thank you,

m

I don’t attend the TLM—but from what others who do have stated—there are missalettes available to help you along. Also --just observing the congregation guides you-- as to what to do.

As for the manner of dress—I don’t get the impression that a suit is required. From what I gather–dressing conservative–would be appropriate attire.

Maurin, I would love to hear how it goes  I don’t think we have any TLM near us. But I have been tempted to visit the sspx church, we have one in our down town area. I’ve always been curious has to what it’s really like ever since I heard about it.

The places I know of have the little red book from the Coalition in Support of Ecclesia Dei. It has the Latin on one side and the English on the other. Hopefully the Church you attend will have a bulletin with the English translation of the propers of the day( Introit, collect, epistle, gradual, gospel, offretory verse, secret, communion verse, post communion). The only ones in the book, as an example, are from Trinity Sunday. Tomorrow is the 4th Sunday after Epiphany in the traditional calendar.
Please report after attending.

Edited to add this link to the propers for tomorrow:
