Single Family Life Fitting In?

#1

I have a friendship that may best be served by sending her on her way. At twenty four she is half my age although quite bright, but the age differences are there. I question “singleness?”

I noticed as I explore options that I do not want nor maintain a general sense of “find somone else.”

A couple of years ago I noticed things in the parish I was in seemed oriented to families. I received social invitations that were presumptious about my state as a “lonely” person. My question is is there a preference for the married over the single life? Is there scripture on this?

I attend Mass at a monastery and there is no "Sense of Parish."to worry about. This has as much to do with when and where I work at present so feeling unease at my place in a parish does not even matter as I never want to go to a parish Mass again.

We all have a vocation… some to married life, others to holy orders, others to single life… none are ‘preferred’ over the other. All are equally valid vocations.
