Sisters at St. Ann Convent in Tucson

#1

Hi all,

This came to me via email, and I thought I’d put it out here!
God Bless, Barbara

I often attend Mass with the Sisters at St Ann’s convent up on
Sabino Canyon Rd. This morning, after the Mass, it was announced that the Sisters were in dire straights. Their water tank is all cracked and badly rusted. It has started to leak and is in grave danger of completely failing at any moment. If this were to
happen, especially at night, no one might notice, and the pump
could then burn out. That would be an even bigger disaster.

I spoke with one of the Sisters who was expressing their fears about getting sick from drinking this dirty water. They must have a new tank. These things are custom made items, and are very expensive. Even if they ordered one tomorrow, it takes about 4 weeks to make one and 50% of the cost must be paid up front, with the remaining balance due at delivery. They think the total cost will be about $10,500-$5,500 being due at the ordering.

I don’t know about you, but I, for one, am so grateful for all
that our religious Brides of Christ, all over this country, do for us
faltering humans. I just couldn’t let their need go by without
seeing if there was anything that I could do to help them. These
aren’t young, active Sisters. These are retired Nuns who have
faithfully served our Lord for our betterment for many, many
years.

I can’t help but notice the peculiar timing of this emergency.
Funny how it’s coming to us just at the time of this stressful
economic period in our nation’s history. Just when we’re cutting
back, and watching our savings and 401k’s and home values
dropping, the Lord seems to be asking us pointedly, to put aside our needs and our fears, and is giving us this test of faith. Can we now help those who have said yes to him from the beginning, those who have given up so much to do His will and unceasingly pray for us?

These ladies, in their beautiful blue habits, need us right now.
I am asking you to pray to the Lord about this, and see if He is
placing it on your heart to help them solve this crisis. - And it
IS a crisis. We live in the desert here. There is no water. They
need this tank. Please, if you feel like you could help them out
with a donation, even if it’s just a little, it would be like the
loaves and fishes - it would grow and grow and solve this very
serious problem.

You may send donations to:

Thanks so much in advance for all of your help and your prayers.

God bless,
Signey

Your intentions will be in my prayers.

Eternal God, in whom mercy is endless and the treasury of compassion inexhaustible, look kindly upon us, and increase Your mercy in us, so that in difficult moments we might not despair, nor become despondent, but with great confidence, submit ourselves to Your Holy Will, which is Love and Mercy itself. Amen
