So, I heard some chant today at the Assumption Mass

… and I want to hear more.

We’ve got a new priest in our parish and he’s been singing some of the Mass. Today we sang the Agnus Dei at the noon Mass. Plenty of people seemed to know it!!!

But not me.

I’m a convert and didn’t grow up with this music. When I converted, I’d secretly hoped that I get to hear more music like this at Mass – but it never really happened. :frowning:

I’ve got a CD or two of Gregorian chant and Renaissance music, but I’d like to know if there is any one CD of the Mass parts. Or did parishes just do any chant available. I’m in the US if that makes any difference.

btw, I’m a professional musician and have been in the music ministry at my church. Due to scheduling, I can’t really be a part of it. That, and I don’t really find much of the current stuff to be too prayerful.

Any recommendations would be really appreciated! Music, books, and so forth!!!
