Special prayers for our Mothers today!

Dear Brothers and Sisters,

In the USA, today, we celebrate “Mother’s Day”. Hopefully, every day is a day on which we honor Mary, our Blessed Mother, and also our Mothers – those who gave us physical birth, as well as those whom God has permitted to be “spiritual” Mothers to us – Godmothers at Baptism who have nurtured our faith, as have sponsors at Confirmation, teachers in Catholic schools or in Parish Schools of Religion, and other friends and relatives who have helped us to grow closer to God.

Lord, bless all our Mothers, living on earth and those who are living now in eternity. I give you thanks for each of them and trust they are with you in eternity where I hope to see them all in Your Glory one day.

Mary, Mother of all, we thank you for all your prayers, and ask you to intercede for all Mothers on earth, that we continually grow in our Love for God and for all those He has brought into our lives.

Joining you in prayer for all mothers! God bless.

Joining you in this prayer. Thank you Mother Mary. Please watch over mothers with their children. Please give comfort to those who have lost their mothers, and mothers who have lost their children.

God bless all mothers!

Praying for all. God bless them all.

:amen:

Amen

Thanks to ALL for your prayers and each “Amen”, posted on this thread. I believe God has blessed and continues to bless all the Mothers He created in His Mysterious Way – His Ways are above our ways, yet we can believe, and hope and love because He loved us First!

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Dear pollylodges,

Thanks for adding your prayers to this thread. It is good to pray for Mothers every day, for as the Catechism teaches in the section on Matrimony:

CCC - 605 Holy Scripture affirms that man and woman were created for one another: “It is not good that the man should be alone.” The woman, “flesh of his flesh,” i.e., his counterpart, his equal, his nearest in all things, is given to him by God as a “helpmate”; she thus represents God from whom comes our help.

Women who never marry, who remain single or become Consecrated Religious Sisters – each remains a gift from God to mankind – to be a “helper” and represent God from whom comes our help. God’s children become every woman’s children in a spiritual way.
