Spiritual torment, please pray for me

Catholic brothers and sisters, I recently returned to the Church after a five year absence following the loss of my father in 2012. I left because I was told to ‘shut up’, I was crying at the back of my church and I know the lady who rebuked me didn’t know what I was going through.
I recently got in touch with my Priest and asked him to come to see me so I could make my confession and he did. Before I lost my dad I was a staunch Catholic and, I will say this, I have had a lifetime of torment from demonic creatures. Please understand, I am not mentally ill. I told Father that I was scared the torment would start again as soon as I came back to the Church…he said, “don’t worry, God will protect you” and although I trust God, I cannot handle further torment. My sleep is disrupted, I see things in my home, I hear the voices…I had none of this for the previous years. Please pray for me

Take a Sacramental such as holy water and use it well.
Pray the Rosary.

If you ate fluent in ecclesiastical Latin, use that.

Ask a priest to bless your household.

I have my Rosary in my hand all the time. And wear my Miraculous Medal. I feel that the tormentors are at a distance but nevertheless here.
I will certainly ask for a blessing on my home, thank you my friend

I pray for strength, I know my Heavenly Father is by my side and hope to stand up in the face of the evil one and tell him he is not welcome here.

Yes, pray much.
The Holy water is useful, very useful.

St Benedict medal is also important.

Also you can pray.
Vade retro Satana!
Nunquam suade mihi vana!
Sunt mala quae libas.
Ipse venena bibas!

Begone, Satan,
Do not suggest to me thy vanities!
Evil are the things thou profferest,
Drink thou thy own poison!

Crux sacra sit mihi lux!
Nunquam draco sit mihi dux!

The Holy Cross be my light;
Let not the dragon be my guide.

Cross yourself as well. The Name of Jesus is powerful.

You can also pray that all spirits not of the Holy Spirit, by the power of Jesus Christ’s Name, be washed in the blood of the Crucifixion

I will keep this intention in my votive candle for you.

I am not the only person in the world to experience this, I know that, and I pray for all others to be delivered in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit ️:rose:

Thank you midnight sapphire. Maybe if you are very religious, daily Mass might help. Don’t keep afraid to keep a radio on or audio book, or even maybe a television channel or two. It might help keep the fear down a bit. Prayers!

How do they torment you besides being present?

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in battle. Be our safeguard against the wickedness and snares of the devil. may God rebuke him we humbly pray, and do Thou, O Prince of the heavenly host, by the power of God, cast into hell satan and all the evil spirits that roam around the world seeking the ruin of souls, Amen

Praying to St. Michael the Archangel to watch over & protect you.

Kyrie Eleison,
Christe Eleison,
Kyrie Eleison

Sancti Maria et Michael et Petrus, orate pro nobis

Thank you for the question, my friend. I had some years of peace before I went back to Church, and I had a suspicion that this would come back to me. I am jolted awake in the night on a regular basis. I see dark figures in my bedroom. I hear in my ear taunting and memories of long-ago and absolved sins, and insults of every kind.

Hail Mary…

Hail Mary…

Hail Mary…

I love and trust my Father in Heaven and thank my brothers and sisters for your prayers

I agree with Eli on playing a radio or the tv and to add to this if possible, I’d leave the tv on a Christian channel, and the radio on k-love or a Christian radio station. What I do sometimes since I have a fire stick is put it on YouTube and play Christian music for a few hours. You can also put YouTube or pandora on the computer/laptop and turn up the volume. You know “they” don’t like that kind of music! Sleep with your bible and sleep with a blessed scapular if possible… I sleep with mine on sometimes and pop my earplugs in falling a sleep to Christian music. The rosary absolutely would be great, as well as doing a novena to Padre Pio! God bless and protect you.

Use Blessed salt. Place properly blessed st Benedict medals in your room. Wear the brown scapular (Blessed). Have a blessed crucifix in your room as well as a picture of Our Lady, Blessed Also. Have your home blessed. Say prayers of exorcism that laity May say. Ask st Anthony of the desert, st Benedict, st Joseph, st basil and St. Albert to intercede and pray for you and protect you. Pray the holy Michael archangel prayer at night. The sign of the cross is powerful. Know that while these demons can harass you they are under strict limits from God. God will not let them harm you. Their bark is worse than their bite. They play parlour games using fear but it’s just show. Do not be afraid. Take it as a sign that you have been singled out by God for special holiness as He is allowing this for a reason. The devil is already defeated. Christ reigns. Satan is but a creature. Yes he is annoying and a nuisance but you have the power in Christ, not the devil. Be of good courage and claim the victory that Christ won for you.

if these symptoms of having people in your home, of hearing people of seeing people, etc, is NOT a result of any illicit drug use, then I would suggest buying a plane ticket and finding another city or State to move to. A change of outdoor temperature and wind speeds, and temperature guages would help in helping your mind, your life, and your outlook be influenced by the differences of outdoor temperatures, wind speeds, outdoor temperature guages… etc… Even being in a new neighborhood where you have to learn the roads and streets and stores will help your mind re-map itself which would aid in leaving the junk behind.

If the symptoms came from illicit drug uses, then regardless of where you relocate to, the symptoms will probably be similar but may not be exactly the same, if you continue in drug usages.

Hearing voices on drugs is not ONLY in one place.

And if you did not use drugs or are not using drugs, then hearing voices or seeing people in your home might be more ‘real’ than hallucinations which would definitely be a reason to relocate.

If you are using and do not want to ‘stop’, then I’d suggest getting real about your desire to be in The Church or letting your Pastor/Preacher know what your ideas are. Maybe you want to be part of the Church family but still use drugs freely. Letting your pastor or preacher know this in advance would help him use proper ways to understand what you are going through if and when any ‘out of the ordinary’ behavior comes from you. Most importantly, let your Church Pastor or Preacher know and then work out the finer points after.

But if you did not let your Church Pastor or Preacher know and if some odd behavior should come forth from you, then who would know why? They might think you had a demon or was possessed… by some ‘evil’ inner thing within you… Not every Church has the same understanding of possessions and torments as every other Church. But letting them know of your drug uses would give them a satisfactory reason and explanation for your odd behavior, if you should exhibit any…

Remember, the other Church Members need to be shown respect and courtesy and Love and understanding as well as the ‘tormented’ one(s). The whole entire ‘focus’ shouldn’t be on 1 person. Unless the others have a desire to do so, which is somewhat strange and out of the ordinary. But if they want to focus their attention on 1 person, then that is their right.

Maybe all the ‘tormented’ person wants is to be heard and to have someone they can share their painful and good stories and memories and hopes with. But without letting the others know, the others are not going to ‘invite’ themselves into your personal life lest they be accused of ‘forcing entry’ or being ‘disrespectful’ …

If you are close enough with the Priest for him to come over to your personal living space, then I don’t see why there would be any reservations with telling him the truth about what you want and what you are hoping for and what you are even expecting… At least this way, the Priest can work WITH what you are trying to achieve more than trying to give options of what possibilities there might be for you within The Church
