St. Joseph's Basilica marks Pope's service with mass

From CBC:

About a thousand people attended a thanksgiving mass for Pope Benedict XVI at St. Joseph’s Basilica in Edmonton on Thursday.

Benedict’s resignation came in effect at 12 p.m. MT, making him the first pope to retire in nearly 600 years.

The Edmonton Journal (local paper) also has some nice pictures.

The Bishops of Western Canada were in Edmonton for their annual conference this week, and all of them concelebrated today’s Mass (25ish or something around that, including all 4 Western Canadian Ukrainian bishops).

Did anyone else’s diocese celebrate a special Mass or other ceremony to give thanks for the Pope’s reign today?

Missa pro eligendo summo Pontifice at Saint Patrick’s cathedral in NYC.
