I would like to know if anyone knows this:
Has there ever been a study done that shows the recidivism rates for those recovering from addiction/alcoholism, the ones who adopt a spiritual discipline vs. the ones who do not?
For example, if Joe the alcoholic quits drinking, is he more likely to maintain sobriety if he prays and reads daily and attends mass regularly, versus if he tries to do it on his own? And are there any studies relating to that?
Hope this makes sense.
