Swiss voters reject marriage initiative, automatic deportations [CC]


By a slim 51%-49% margin, voters in Switzerland have rejected a ballot initiative that would have defined marriage as the union of a man and a woman and would also have ended tax penalties …



It’s interesting, though, because the majority of Swiss citizens are Christian (38% Catholic, 25% Reformed). But then again, liberalism always trumps religion for some people.


Not too shocking, to be honest.
