Teacher Gives Students Sex Tape

Teacher Gives Students Sex Tape
By RYAN SMITH, CBS News

ELK GROVE, Calif. (July 2) - A class of fifth graders in California got a shocking crash course on the birds and the bees courtesy of their teacher and an X-rated home video she accidentally included in a DVD of classroom memories.

The error was not caught until after the DVDs were distributed to the students and their families. Parents tell CBS 13 Sacramento that the woman is a good teacher who made an honest but embarrassing mistake.

This is hilarious!! :rotfl:

I’m glad my elementary school teachers were nuns. :nun2::crossrc:

No way!! How embarrassing! :o

Woof! gotta love them career altering moments,

Sadness comes to my mind. Hopefully few (or no) children saw the content.

an honest but embarrassing mistake.

Embarrassing certainly, but an “honest mistake”? A “hypocritcal lifestyle,” “poor judgement,” and “an inevitable mistake” seem closer to the mark.

The teacher is likely quite mortified by this. The article says she won’t be fired. I’m sure she’s suffered enough over the stress of this.

I disagree with your comments, as follows:

‘hypocritical lifestyle’

So you don’t think teachers should have sex?

‘poor judgment’

How so? In making a sex tape. Many couples do this.

‘inveitable mistake’

Hardly. If that were true, then we’d be seeing tapes like this all the time. There was nothing inevitable here.

Is she married? The story doesn’t say.

‘poor judgment’

How so? In making a sex tape. Many couples do this.

Yes, and they are all idiots.
Leaving aside moral considerations, such pictures/videos could fall into the wrong hands by loss or theft. And if the couple breaks up one party (usually the male) may decide to humiliate the other by publicising the pictures – something made far easier by the Web.

For your last example, the primary issue of ‘poor judgment’ would have been in picking the wrong person for a spouse.

Luke 17:2
It would be better for him to be thrown into the sea with a millstone tied around his neck than for him to cause one of these little ones to sin.

I fear for her and the little ones in her charge.

Sex tapes are almost always about the pornographic aspects of sex. Someone with a “private” pornography problem and a “public” child mentoring role is _______ (fill in the blank).

Porn is porn no matter who is “starring”. Wrong is wrong no matter how many do it.

Non-sequitur.

I’ll have to politely disagree with you on all of your comments.

Kudos for your charity.

As for the rest, you’re not disagreeing wth me.
I’m only trying to reflect Scripture and Church teaching.
If you have something better, please, I’m all ears (or eyes in this case :p).

Perhaps I was interpreting your comments incorrectly - I am not sure.

It just seems that you’re painting the teacher as a ‘bad’ person who shouldn’t be teaching children. To me, this is not an instance where you can characterize someone as “either/or” - i.e. being either completely moral and following Church teachings all the time, or being an evil person. As I mentioned earlier, I think the teacher was mortified by what happened - but I do not think she is a bad person.

Someone is heartbroken and humiliated. She had a lapse in judgment and has paid an excruciating price. She is being derided in front of the entire world. Hilarious? No. I would argue that Christ doesn’t find this hilarious.
