Teenage Rebel with Depression and his Family

Dear Forum Members

I humbly ask you please consider 14-16 year old “Stephen” who has been diagnosed with depression and is going through a very rebellious stage that has lead to use of drugs and a police record in Puerto Rico.

The family, who is Catholic; to the best of their abilities are seeking help for “Stephen”, but naturally overwhelmed.

I pray that it’s God’s will that whatever chain is leading “Stephen” into this downward spiral is broken. I also ask for the family, may they continue persevering and have the courage, determination and wisdom to make the best decisions in making the changes needed to help “Stephen”.

Thank You.

Gracious and merciful Father, please come to his assistance.

Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on Earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb Jesus.
Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

Glory Be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit.
As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end.
Amen.

O loving Mother of our Redeemer, gate of heaven, star of the sea,
Hasten to aid thy fallen people who strive to rise once more.
Thou who brought forth thy holy Creator, all creation wond’ring,
Yet remainest ever Virgin, taking from Gabriel’s lips
that joyful “Hail!”: be merciful to us sinners.

Amen.

St. Dymphna intercede for Stephen.

(Alma Redemptoris Mater, quae pervia caeli
Porta manes, et stella maris, sucurre cadenti,
Surgere qui curat populo: tu quae genuisti,
Natura mirante, tuum sanctum Genitorem,
Virgo prius ac posterius, Gabrielis ab ore
Sumens illud Ave, peccatorum miserere.)

Praying.

St. Stephen, first martyr, pray to our heavenly father, dear heroic saint, that this “Stephen” may find healing and his family peace. Amen.

Heavenly Father, please bless and shine your light upon this family. Give them strength to overcome all of the difficulties that they are dealing with now and protect them against any and all problems they may encounter in the future. O Lord, please bring them together as they are meant to be. May the love that binds them only grow stronger as they fulfill the destiny you have laid out for them. Grant this family forgiveness for any sins they have committed. May they also forgive one another Lord, as it is sometimes difficult to do.
Through our Lord, Jesus Christ.
Amen

O Christ Jesus, when all is darkness and Stephen
feels his weakness and helplessness, give him the
sense of Your Presence, Your Love and Your Strength.
Help him to have perfect trust in Your protecting love
and strengthening power, so that nothing might frighten
or worry him, for, living close to You, he shall see Your
Hand, Your Purpose, Your Will through all things.
Amen

That’s actually what I was thinking.

Prayer for Rebellious Teen

Dear Lord, you have witnessed the rebelliousness of youth since the very beginnings of time. You understand a parent’s anguish and helplessness over the actions of his child. Please help us to transform our anger and frustration into loving care for our child who has gone astray. Help us begin to mend our broken fences and heal our broken hearts. Bless our child and also help him to mend the error of his ways. Help and bless us all to do right in Your name and restore us to peace and tranquility.
“Forgive the rebellious sins of youth …” Psalm 25:7

Amen.

St. Stephan, pray for us!

Prayer to Our Lady of Mental Peace

O Lady of Mental Peace,
Mother of Tranquility
and Mother of Hope,
look upon Stephen in this time
of weakness and unrest.

Teach her searching heart
to know that God’s Love
for her is unchanging and
unchangeable, and, that
true human love can only
begin and grow by touching
His Love.

Let your gentle Peace -
which this world cannot give

  • be always with her.
And, help her to bring this
    same Peace into the lives
    of others.

Our Lady of Mental Peace,

  • Pray for us!
    Amen.

Jesus, Help Me!

In every need let me come to You with humble trust,
saying:
Jesus, help me!
In all my doubts, perplexities, and temptations:
Jesus, help me!
In hours of loneliness, weariness and trials:
Jesus, help me!
In the failure of my plans and hopes, in disappointments,
troubles and sorrows:
Jesus, help me!
When others fail me, and Your Grace alone can assist me:
Jesus, help me!
When I throw myself on Your tender Love as Savior:
Jesus, help me!
When my heart is cast down by failure, at seeing no good
come from my efforts:
Jesus, help me!
When I feel impatient, and my cross irritates me:
Jesus, help me!
When I am ill, and my head and hands cannot work and
I am lonely:
Jesus, help me!

Always, always, in spite of weakness, falls and short-
comings of every kind:
Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, help me and never forsake me!

Amen

Praying to St. Dymphna for this young man’s health & recovery.
