Terrible carls jr's ads

Years ago Carls Jr. had those terrible commercials with Paris Hilton - now they have one that honestly - I just don't see how anyone could think it wasn't at the very least sexist - or soft core porn - Kim Kardashian eating a salad in bed - I've written to them, I've written to the TV station that airs the ads ---- does anyone else think we should try to get this to stop? Or just ignore it? If you think we should try to stop it - do you have any ideas beside letters to Carls and the TV station?

I'd write them a letter about why it made me boycott them, except that would be a lie... I never ate there in the first place. :o

For those of us who live in the Midwest, or in the South, Carls Jr = Hardee's. The parent company of Carl's Jr. bought Hardee's a few years ago, which is when we first noticed the new logo of the yellow star with the smiley face.

These ads have been running for awhile, and attracted some controversy. I don't think a single letter will deter them at this point, assuming that the ads are increasing business. Organizing a letter campaign with the realistic threat of a boycott would be necessary. And even then, it would probably have to show that guys 16-26 y.o (a key demographic for this chain) would be less likely to eat there.

On the other hand, the company which owns Carl's Jr. and Hardee's has just been sold.

Perhaps the change at the top will mean the company is more willing to change direction. The news article also mentions that a large chain of Hardee's franchises refused to run one set of ads which it considered in bad taste. So perhaps targeting regionally is a workable idea.

that is really interesting that it has changed hands ---- I wasn’t aware of this — but do you think if some group like the the KofC took them on - encouraged all members to write boycott?
Or - maybe even better Life Teen because that demographic?

It's worth a shot.

I'm just glad I'm fortunate enough to live in an area where In-N-Out Burger is located. They discretely put bible verses on the bottoms of their fountain cups and burger/fry wrappers.

Well if you want Carl's/Hardee's menu items then In-N-Out won't do. However Rally Burger has a menu which is almost a clone of Carl's. I don't know if the Rally corporation has done anything bad?
