The Feast of Our Lady of the Angels of the Porziuncola and the Pardon of Assisi

Glory to Jesus Christ!

Wondering if any one else celebrated the Feast of Our Lady of the Angels of the Porziuncola and the Pardon of Assisi today, especially our Franciscan brothers and sisters out there.

There were at least 10 priests con-celebrating at the National Shrine of St. Francis today for its joyous reopening. I lost count as my attention drifted elsewhere :). It was such a joyous occasion! I was brought to tears after the Mass ended when the lamp for the tabernacle was lit for the first time in a long time. It was a cold foggy day when we entered the Shrine with its empty tabernacle. The sun was glorious when we came out at the end of Mass. Confessions were still being heard when I left the Nuova Porziuncola and went back inside the Shrine over an hour later.

Pax et bonum!
