The Fish Symbol

#1

For those who have it do you have it because of the biblical references to fish in the bible or the legend that Christians used that as a means of idenitfying each other in a greeting by drawing half a fish on the ground with a stick to see if the other person would respond by finishing the fish?

Curious.

The fish is a universal symbol by all Christianity. But its origins, I know not.

I think it is good to see the fish on the backs of cars [automobiles] as it shows solidarity.

Likewise I like to see the Orthodox emphasis on ‘the empty tomb’ which is the Orthodox equivalent to the Catholic empty cross at Easter. I think it is good that so many Catholic Churches have adopted the Eastern tradition of modelling ‘an empty tomb’!

Here is an interesting and quick read on it.

I agree Sixtus!

I see no problem with the empty Cross, and no problem with the empty tomb.

For once, we agree!
