The Holocaust

What is the meaning of the Holocaust for a Catholic, view of history?

In the view of history it has the same meaning as it has for everyone, an evil historical reality that happened due to a complex of political and social factors. What would you call a “Catholic” meaning? The Catholic spin would be that not only was it a political and social evil, but also a moral evil and example of the worst variety of sins of which humans are capable, and from which only Jesus can redeem us.
