I made a post last month telling of my experience visiting the mormon church. The people seemed nice and there was almost like having automatic friends. So, I was invited back this past Sunday. When I was in the parking lot I realized that I was being shunned by some members, who had previously been so kind. One member wore a smug look on her face and said I didnt see you last Sunday and ignored me from then on. So apparently I’m being shunned for not coming to their church. I’ve attended a hand full of times too.
But my deal breaker was during Sunday school. A member ranted about the Catholic Church, all the members know im Catholic, criticizing praying to saints and Catholics not reading the bible. But where my heart sank and my blood pressure spiked, is when she said that priest drink all of the wine at communion and that’s why they’re alcoholics. Everyone started laughing and everything went in slow motion . God forbid someone bashed their temple ordinances they’d flip out and feel hurt. For us Catholics, wine is no longer wine at communion but the literal blood of Christ. And for her to take the sacredness out of it by referencing alcoholism darn near killed me. I left early and told the missionaries that I didn’t like the negative spirit that I felt during my visit.
But I thank God for that experience because it made me appreciate what I have in the Catholic Church. After the experience I heard Venerable Fulton Sheen tell the following story/ joke that made me realize that ive visited their church soo much that, I get to be treated like the rank and file members.

There was a man who went to heaven and thought perhaps he would like to go to hell to see what it was like. He asked St.Peter if he could go down so he went down to hell and rather enjoyed himself over the weekend. He came back to heaven and the following weekend said to Peter really I didn’t mind it down there can I go down again? Yes said Peter. And for the second time he came back and reported enjoying himself. The third time he asked to go down. Peter said, “now this is your last time.” When he got down, the devil put him in one of the hot corners of hell and he said to the devil when I was here before you treated me nicely. He said, “yes then you were a tourist, now you are a resident.”
