What is it like to walk in the footsteps of and St. Francis de Sales and Margaret Mary Alacoque? This video shows highlights from the Visitation Order’s 400th anniversary, and the pilgrimage to Annecy, France, home of their founder!
Not only were the pilgrims able to visit the birthplace of St. Francis, but they were shown the relics and artifacts which were hidden in private homes during the French Revolution for safety. The Poor Clares lent some help of their own to make sure the bodies of the Visitation founders were not stolen or damaged.
At the end of the pilgrimage, three days were spent at the monastery of Paray-le-monial. Here the pilgrams were able to pray and walk through the convent where the Sacred Heart of Jesus appeared to St. Margaret Mary Alacoque.
