The Position of "New Eve"

Hi friends,

Thanks very much for taking a read at this; I know I have a lot of questions, but this one I am hoping others might help me with, as has been done before.

I have heard it said often that Mary is the “New Eve”, to replace the disobedience of the first Eve in the garden. I was wondering about this and realized that I currently feel that the Church itself could also be called the “New Eve”; one of the verses that led me to feel justified in this was 1 Corinthians 11:3. So I have a few questions:

-Where might I go in Scripture to find a tie-in for Mary holding this position?
-Can the title be held by both Mary and the Church? If yes, how?

Thank you!

Why not? Are called to a lesser calling than Mary? Are you not a temple of the Holy Spirit just as mary was a temple of the Word made flesh? You are the Holy temple of God.

You can look in Genesis 3 where a reference is made to Mary. Have you referenced the Catechism on this?
