This is a drastically incomplete poll. The Renaissance had a profound, revolutionary and far-reaching impact on art, politics, science, philosophy, theology, culture, etc. etc. etc… Its effects were far from homogenous, and few of them can be classified as objectively good or bad for Christianity, which was in turn influenced differently by each of these spheres. The Renaissance as whole, then, certainly cannot be evaluated in black and white terms either.

I hope that if people choose the third option, than they are waxing philosophical. It never fails to amaze me how little is taught through the education system these days.

How does one judge a movement? Look at the fruits of that movement.

  1. Arts & Science - Good
  2. Religion - Bad
  3. Exploration - Good
  4. Religion - Bad
