Today we celebrate the Feast of Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha

Today we celebrate the Feast of Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha.

Did you know that the Oblates have a mission named after Kateri Tekakwitha, the first and only Native American to be beatified by the Catholic Church? The Tekakwitha Missions are located in Sisseton, South Dakota and White Earth, Minnesota. The Oblates in these places strive to bring the Native American people closer to Jesus Christ while also providing the poor with food, clothing and other resources.

Have your prayers remembered at the Tekakwitha Missions. You may also have a Votive Candle lit in White Earth, where you will be remembered in prayer. Or, in gratitude for your donation to our missions, you may request Native American devotional gifts.

In the love of Blessed Kateri,
Fr. John Madigan, O.M.I.
Oblate Director
