Trump or Biden? What’s a Catholic voter to do?

Trump is far more in line with catholic teaching.

During the 1960 presidential campaign, many Protestants feared John Kennedy would be a Catholic politician who would take orders from the bishops and the pope

I think the current question is, will Biden take orders from Bernie?

Great story…

Certainly true in some areas such as abortion. But in other areas, Biden’s positions better accord with Catholic teaching - as the article elaborates.

I can well imagine many Americans feel there is no good choice at this presidential election.

I definitely agree.

Third parties! Please, if you don’t feel like either party is a good choice, Brian Carroll and the ASP could use the Catholic vote to gain exposure and be seen as a truly viable alternative for American Christians.

If you want to fund, support, and promote the killing of little baby boys and girls through abortion, redefine the family, and normalize gender ideology in schools, then for sure, vote for Biden.

Of course what I said was:

Those first 4 words are important in capturing the meaning accurately.

What? Partisans taking words out of context for cheap political points? Never!

Go with Brian Carroll if at all possible.

I would say that overall Trump has a higher percentage of policies that are in line with catholic teaching than Biden.

"Whether considered as a doctrine or an historical fact, or a movement, Socialism, if it remains truly Socialism… cannot be reconciled with the teachings of the Catholic Church because its concept of society itself is utterly foreign to Christian Truth."

I will be voting for Donald Trump because Pro-Life, Conservatism, and Capitalism are in line with Christian Truth. Biden and Bernie with their barbaric Molech pleasing abortion policies and Marxism should not get a single Catholic vote.

Can we just have one Trump vs Biden megathread where people can fight about this to their heart’s content? We really don’t need seven active threads that are functionally the same argument repeated endlessly.

Heck of a first post but this might be why I’m here anyway. I’ve come to the conclusion that if Trump doesn’t win you better have a stockpile of bibles ready to hide.

It’s important to remember to properly form your conscience. Neither major political party in the United States is 100% in agreement with the Catholic church. The church does not endorse political candidates but does help you form your conscience and teach about the issues.

Another consideration is would you vote for Pence or Harris? This clarifies it for me.

The author of this piece is a Jesuit who published in National Catholic Reported and America Magazine. This should tell you something about his politics and his attitude toward catholicism.

You mean like Pope Francis? Isn’t he a Jesuit?
