Understand issues facing indigenous people, church told [CNAU]

Developing a better understanding of issues faced by Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples is key to more effective action by the Christian community, the National Council of Churches Australia said.

Here in North America, the native peoples were ill-treated by government and religious organizations (among other agents), so we certainly have no ground to be making judgment.

Perhaps our Australian members have a better perspective to comment on this article. Still, from the article it seems that the Church could do more to promote indigenous rights.
