Upcoming surgery - prayers needed!

I would appreciate any prayers for my upcoming surgery on November 12. I am a 37 year old mom of 7 - 13, 11, 9, 6, 4, 2, and 7 months. I have had left hip pain due to arthritis for almost 3 years now with the only solution being a total hip replacement. I decided to go ahead and do it , but I am so scared I am making the wrong decision!! I am scared for recovery. My husband will be taking some time off and my mom will help as well, but I don’t want to burden everyone and there is so much to do! I am still breast feeding my baby, and he is a terrible sleeper at night so that adds another problem! Then there are the holidays and decorating and gifts, etc, etc. I am so scared! Sometimes I don’t think the pain is bad enough to warrant such a major surgery and I doubt myself! Please pray for a speedy recovery with a positive outcome. Pray that I will be able to be strong for these next few weeks because I feel like a ball of anxiety! I have moments of profound depression! I have never had surgery before, and I am really scared!! My family needs me!

Praying for your health & recovery & successful surgical outcome.

You have a lot on your plate and I can see why you feel like a ball of anxiety. May God alleviate your anxiety and I’m happy to see you have your husband and mom to help you.
Don’t doubt yourself at all but move forward with the stength of Christ to get this surgery and may it be wonderfully successful and may your recovery be quick as possible. You have taken care of many children and a husband and now it’s ok to let someone take care of you for awhile. May God alleviate also your fears.

You are in my prayers.
Mary.

Remembering you, your family and your upcoming surgery in my daily prayers. God bless!

Jesus our Lord, I trust in you, and place this person’s intentions in your most sacred heart. Please grant Cathmomof6 the comfort of your love, healing and inner peace as well as strength and courage

Our Father who art in heaven
Hallowed be thy name
Thy kingdom come
Thy will be done
On earth as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our trespasses
As we forgive those who trespass against us
Lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil
Amen.

Prayer to St. Luke:

Most charming and saintly Physician, you were animated by the heavenly Spirit of love. In faithfully detailing the humanity of Jesus, you also showed His divinity and His genuine compassion for all human beings. Inspire our physicians with your professionalism and with the divine compassion for their patients. Enable them to cure the ills of both body and spirit that afflict so many in our day.

Amen.

A Prayer Before Surgery

O Jesus Christ, Messiah and Lord,
grant me joyful acceptance of the surgery
which awaits me,
and let this be the relief and cure which I seek.
Make skilled the work of the surgeon
and that of his team
for it is unto their knowledge and skill
that I give myself for healing.
I pray You, O Lord,
that this procedure will be without complication,
and that my recovery will be speedy and complete.
Amen.

Lord, have mercy on us.
Christ have mercy on us.
Lord, have mercy on us.

Christ hear us.
Christ, graciously hear us.

God the Father of Heaven,
Have mercy on us.

God the Son, Redeemer of the world,
Have mercy on us.

God the Holy Spirit,
Have mercy on us.

Holy Trinity, One God,
Have mercy on us.

Holy Mary, Queen of Angels, pray for us.

Lord, Jesus Christ, by the prayer of the Archangel Raphael, grant us the grace to avoid all sin and to persevere in every good work until we reach our heavenly destination, You Who lives and reigns world without end. Amen.

Praying hard for you. I had right hip total replacement surgery 21 years ago. It turned out great. It took about 8 weeks for me to get rid of the crutches and cane and was worth doing. I’ve had absolutely no problems in the past 21 years and have been pain free.

Thank you!!! I need to hear stuff like that right now. I am working hard to fight off a pervasive depression.

Our Father who art in Heaven,
Hallowed be thy name.
Thy kingdom come, thy will be done
on Earth as it is in Heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread.
And forgive us our trespasses,

Amen. :signofcross:

Please continue to pray for me. I am feeling super overwhelmed with all the presurgery things to do. I go back and forth if I should do this or not. I am young and not in a tremendous amount of pain - but would like to be able to take long walks and run after my kids. I am getting super depressed and feel like this has mentally aged me like 20 years. I have been praying for healing for almost 3 years and wish God would just tell me what to do so I don’t second guess myself and feel like I am making the wrong decision !!

***Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,

of thy womb,

Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death
Amen.
