Lord for every Priest, Seminarian, Religious Brother or Sister that you may grant them the grace they need to do YOUR will, serve YOU and YOUR Church, to be the ones who lead us to Heaven and that they in turn receive every blessing possible from you. Give them what they need, when they need it, how they need it and where they need it to be YOUR shepherds here. PLEASE Dear Lord protect them all from satan & his evil ways and from the worldliness surrounding them. Help them to remember why they answered your call. Amen!

O Lord Jesus Christ, great High Priest, I pray that you call many worthy souls to your holy priesthood. Enlighten the Bishop and Vocation Director in the choice of candidates, the Spiritual Directors in molding them, and the professors in instructing them. Lead the seminarians daily in your unerring footsteps, so that they may become priests who are models of purity, possessors of wisdom, and heroes of sacrifice. May they be steeped in humility and aflame with love for God and man, apostles of your glory, and sanctifiers of souls. Mary, Queen of the Clergy, pray for us. Amen.

Our Priest mentioned this book at Mass this morning during his homily about St. Alphonsus Liguori. He said he’s read it a few times and he needs to read it again. Just sharing for the Seminarians here:

Dignity and Duties of the Priest by St. Alphonsus Liguori

Pope Francis wrote a very loving and heartfelt letter to all of his brother Priests:

For all seminarians here that we are praying for and for all seminarians all over the world may you one day be able to say this prayer to Our Lord at Mass as an Ordained Priest:

Catholic Prayers: The Lord’s Prayer for Vocations
Leader: Our Father Who art in heaven,
All: You have promised not to leave us orphans. Send Your holy ministers of salvation to give us the Spirit’s life through the food of faith and charity.
Leader: Hallowed be Thy name,
All: Through Your chosen ministers filled with Your Holy Spirit, may You be made known and loved by all people on earth.
Leader: Thy kingdom come,
All: And may it be built by Your faithful ministers through the sanctity of their lives, their burning zeal for Your glory, and the salvation of all.
Leader: Thy will be done on earth, as it is in heaven.
All: Eternal Father, do not cease to provide Your Church with Your holy ministers who teach all people Your holy law.
Leader: Give us this day our daily bread,
All: The bread of grace which nourishes us through Your sacraments. Enrich Your Church with chosen ministers who bring Your sanctifying grace to all men and women.
Leader: And forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us.
All: Send Your people, Lord, chosen and faithful priests, who by the sacrament of reconciliation bring back to You numerous hearts in need of Your forgiveness.
Leader: And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.
All: Lord, if our sins have deprived us of Your friendship, we ask You: send your ministers of mercy among us, with personal zeal and sacrifice. May they keep our souls from sin, and lead us to sanctification and eternal salvation. Amen.
Leader: Let us ask Mary, Mother of God, for priestly and religious vocations.
All: O Mother, awaken among the young generation a willingness to serve God alone. Implore for us numerous vocations for the priesthood and religious life. O Mother, confirm the faith of all our lay brothers and sisters that in every area of social, professional, cultural and political life, they may work according to the truth. Bless us all and assist us by Your prayers, that we might live effectively the vocation to which we have been called. AMEN.

Prayer for Holiness in Priests
Grant, O Lord, that every hand laid upon You at the altar may be a friendly hand, whose touch is tender and consoling as Joseph’s was;
that the lips which form so many sacred words may never be profaned by frivolous or unworthy speech;
that priests may guard, even in the noisy streets of the city, the impress of their noble functions, the bright token that they have but lately come down from Your holy mountain;
and in their garments the fragrance of the altar, that everyone may find them living memorials of You, accessible to all, yet more than other men.
Grant that they may contract from the Mass of today a hunger and thirst for the Mass of the morrow,
that the sacred anticipation be their last thought at night and Your tender summons their first awareness in the morning;
that Your priests, filled with You and Your good gifts, may give largely to the rest of men who look to You. Amen.
