For the most part, the theologians that are calling out for dialogue aren’t very interested in dialogue with the bishops before they publish their books. It seems they are expecting more from the bishops than they themselves are willing to give.

If they bothered to keep their bishop in the loop before their work was published, they would find that they could have a great dialogue and avoid publishing things that would need to be corrected.
