Use of the Enneagram

I am a member of a religious education committee at my church. The Director of Religious Ed has asked a person to teach the confirmation class who has written several books on the use of the enneagram and has a website promoting its use.

Is it appropriate for Catholics to use the enneagram for self help (for lack of a better phrase) and should a person who promotes its use be teaching a confirmation class?

The pontifical document Jesus Christ, The Bearer of the Water of Life: A Christian reflection on the “New Age” cautions us that the enneagram, “when used as a means of spiritual growth introduces an ambiguity in the doctrine and the life of the Christian faith.”
