As the Catholic world anxiously awaits the release of a papal document concluding the work of the Synod on the Family, a Vatican “reader’s guide” emphasizes that it will be …
He did a terrific job.
My favorite quote so far:
“The Eucharist is not a prize for the perfect, but a powerful medicine and nourishment for the weak”
You can feel the love and compassion in Papa’s words! This small step forward is not what most Western Catholics wwanted, but one small step at a time!
Such presumes something that one could not know.
Rather the presumption is to be that Catholics want what? What the Catholic Church Teaches…for they are after all…Catholics.
And the Church yes goes forward (where else would the Church go?).
But along what path?
That following the Lord Who is Truth and Love and Mercy. Who both said households will be divided over him and Who is the Good Shepherd who seeks out his wounded sheep…
Steps along that path …of that same Lord.
That path is this the steps of the Church meets.
It’s a very large document. Is there something in there you believe will disappoint “most western Catholics”. If so, could you tell us what ? It is very strong on pastoral care while reiterating the truth of the relevant church teachings. What is not to like?
