The staff of Crux held a panel discussion on the papacy of Francis on Sept. 11. Cardinal Sean P. O’Malley of the Archdiocese of Boston provided opening remarks; Margery Eagan, spirituality columnist for Crux, moderated the discussion.
The panelists included:
*]Cardinal Sean P. O’Malley of the Archdiocese of Boston
*]John L. Allen Jr., associate editor, Crux
*]Mary Ann Glendon, Learned Hand Professor of Law, Harvard University, and former U.S. Ambassador to the Holy See
*]Robert Christian, editor and blogger, Millennial | Young Catholics, An Ancient Faith, A New Century
*]Hosffman Ospino, Boston College assistant professor of Hispanic ministry and religious education
It was an interesting discussion. Remember Crux does report on Catholic news, but is a secular news site; not a Catholic Church run site.
At one part, John Allen described how a Catholic priest was asked to renounce his religion in a Soviet gulag; he didn’t and was crucified on a wall upside down… took 3 days to die.
