Wages of sin on you

#1

I have often heard preachers and other members of many different churches say that the wages of sin is death, with that being so, how come there is judgement and punishment after death.
Wouldn't that be like being punished twice for the same thing.
If my death came as a punishment for sin, why would God feel the need to address it further? Just a thought.

I thought we die now as a result of original sin, the Fall of Adam and Eve, which we inherited. Then, we have our own sin, in which case that would move us towards a second death, hell, as opposed to eternal life...heaven.

Oh, and, incidentally, ..nice avatar! ;)
