Was being at the foot of the Cross rewarded with natural death?

The Apostle John, Mary Magdalene and the Blessed Virgin – are these the only ones who died of natural causes? It seems most of the Apostles died a martyrs death – except, of course, Judas.

Was being at the foot of the Cross rewarded with a natural death?

Dear M,

St. John was the only apostle to die of natural causes. But some consider his death the most difficult martrydom because he lived in old age such a long time–well over a hundred.
