Yes, I will talk about it, but I’ll never become one.

#3

Is this a continuation from another thread? I don’t understand it. But if you are asking if people all around the world are going to become Muslim, I personally know of no people in the United States who are interested in becoming Muslim. I can’t speak for the rest of the world.

Just to give you perspective, there are 1 billion Catholics in the world and the numbers came out recently showing an increase in members over the past year; that is to say the Church is growing. That number is not including other Christian faiths.

“Altogether, the number of Christians in the world now amounts to one third or better of the human race, over two billion persons. And Christianity is the fastest-growing religion in the world.”

1983? your information is just a little out of date there (like 23 years out of date). I would be willing to bet protestantism has increased in leaps and bounds by now.

The reason people talk and debate about Islam is because unfortunately it is now associated with almost all the violent acts that take place in the world. Certainly this is so in India.

As for converting, you can count out any Hindu’s, unless it is a misguided girl marrying a muslim. Nor do I know of any christians converting.

OK, Dear LilyM, here is a latest news for you from America; The Washington Post says:

Islam is the fastest-growing religion in the United States and is expected to become the second-largest religious bloc here in the next few years, but the government has not tapped into its own community as part of the global outreach, U.S. officials say.

“It’s very important for American Muslims to be involved, as they’re an important conduit to the wider Islamic world and they should be speaking out,” the second U.S. official added. “But American Muslims generally feel they’re not included like other communities. We should be talking to them, as they have a lot of knowledge of the region.”

Rome’s Envoy to Saudi Arabia Converts to Islam

ROME (Reuters) - Italy’s ambassador to Saudi Arabia has converted to Islam, **the second time in seven years ** that an envoy of Rome to the land of Mecca has adopted its religion.

The conversion of Cardilli – who is married with two children – follows the move to Islam made by Mario Scialoja, Italian ambassador to the Arab kingdom in 1994-95, who has since left the foreign service and is head of Italy’s Muslim League.

Torquato Cardilli, a career diplomat from overwhelmingly Roman Catholic Italy, revealed his decision to Saudi newspapers Saturday, his 59th birthday. Italian diplomatic sources confirmed the announcement Monday…read moe:

Surah AnNoor 24: 39-40

(On the other hand,) the deeds of those who disbelieved, maybe likened to a mirage in a waterless desert, which the thirsty one took for water; but when he reached there he found nothing to drink; nay, he found there Allah Who settled his full account, and Allah is very swift at reckoning. Or (their efforts may be likened to those of a man trying to swim in) a deep dark ocean, covered with billows, one over the other, and above it a cloud: darkness upon darkness: so much so that if he stretches out his hand, he cannot see it. There is no light for the one whom Allah does not give light.

Is this by immigration of Muslims to the U.S. not conversion? Like I said, I never hear about anyone even contemplating Islam.

Christians make up approximately 33% of the world’s population, Islam approximately 22% so I’m not seeing your point. Sorry.

Many people on this forum talk about Islam, with varying degrees of courtesy, but I haven’t seen that interest in Islam equates to a desire to convert. In the “real world,” Islam is growing, yes, but I think many in Western society are starting to see Islam as a real threat to their culture and freedom. For example, the incident with the Danish cartoons showed a strong desire by Muslims to impose their rules on the whole world. When non-Muslims realize that freedom of the press and freedom of religion are threatened, they may start to take a stronger stand against Islam. I hope and pray that this “clash of civilizations” does not lead to more violence than it already has.

God bless!

Whether a religion is the fastest growing or the fastest decreasing religion has nothing to do with it being the true religion. Christianity is the true religion and Catholicism is the true version of Christianity. I would die before converting to Islam or even admitting that Mohammid was a prophet.

As soon as Muslim countries stop killing people who seek out Christianity, they’ll all be talking about Christ. It’s called freedom of religion, and creating a dialogue.

I see nothing wrong with learning other religions, I find other belief systems very interesting. From the time I could remember I’ve read books on every religion.

It’s been 1400 years and Islam has tried and tried to stamp out Christianity in every way possible and it hasn’t happened, to me if Islam was ever going to do it, it would’ve been done already.

Freedomm:
Dear brothers and sisters from Muslim background, there are many of you, I know this. I hope the above articles will show more of you the necessity to speak up and let the Muslims know of the fact that it is not so uncommon for Muslims to find to the truth of God in Jesus our Savior and Lord, and the reason for your new faith.
-From answering-islam.org/Testimonies/
“Buying converts” is a regular Islamic practice that is not often spoken about:

and here are some books written by former Moslems:
* William McElwee Miller, Ten Muslims Meet Christ, Eerdmans, 1969, 1987, 150 pages, ISBN 0-8028-1304-6, tells the stories of ten Iranian converts.
* More to be Desired than Gold, True Stories Told by Christy Wilson, Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary, ISBN 0-9640910-1-1, with several dozens of short testimonies, many from Afghanistan, 180 pages.
* JESUS - more than a prophet, Edited by RWF Wootton, Inter-Varsity Press, England & Send The Light (Operation Mobilization), 1982, reprinted 1984, contains 15 testimonies.
* Mark Hanna, The True Path: Seven Muslims Make Their Greatest Discovery, International Doorways Publishers, 1975
* Jean-Marie Gaudeul, Called from Islam to Christ, 320 pages, Monarch Publications 1999, ISBN: 1-85424-427-2

I thought I would show you it goes both ways…Moslem to Christian not just Christian to Moslem because apparently, your religion does not believe it happens.

I want clear question, please.

Perhaps you are not getting a clear answer because your question is not clear. Are you asking if we believe that Islam will take root in America like it did on the Arabian peninsula just because we are talking about it? If that’s your question, then my response is: No. There will not be a mass conversion to Islam in America. I don’t think there is any evidence of that happening. Instead, I would say that the more I hear about this religion of “peace” the more repelled I am by its teachings.
