What about abortion after rape?

#1

Say if a girl was 13 years old and she was raped and became pregnant. She is neither physically nor mentally ready to give birth to a child. Does the Catholic community still fight for the life of the baby? Because having a baby could kill the girl, so would this mean that the life of the un-born is more valuable than the girl's?

Dear friend,

This example is as old as the hills. Many thirteen year-olds have given birth through the years and have come through it with no major physical problems. Actually, a thirteen year-old is less capable of dealing with destroying her baby than with giving birth to it.

Finally, morally speaking, no one is allowed to deliberately and directly take innocent human life--no matter what the consequences.
