What acts constitute profanation of the Eucharist?

In the Code of Canon Law, it states (link)

A person who throws away the consecrated species or takes or retains them for a sacrilegious purpose incurs a latae sententiae excommunication reserved to the Apostolic See; moreover, a cleric can be punished with another penalty, not excluding dismissal from the clerical state.

Does someone who receives Communion in a state of moral sin receive a latae sententiae excommunication?

no

they don’t use it for sacrilegious purpose nor do they throw it away

they do commit another sin though
