What are Vespers?

What are they? This is just another thing I’ve been curious about, and I keep hearing references to them. Thanks.

Nevermind, I just read that vespers is the evening prayer service on wikipedia.org.

Yep! Liturgy of the Hours (LOTH). I say morning prayer, which is lauds

Could be Scouting-based.

At Scout Camp, for example, vespers are a weekly or nightly gathering at the “chapel” or campfire area. A short, non-denominational service, of sorts, is held focusing on general prayer and a Scout’s “Duty to God” (part of the Scout Oath).

Scouting serves Catholic, Protestant, LDS, Jewish, Islam, Hindu, etc. faiths.
