Here is Oom Pah Pah, from the film of Lionel Bart’s musical Oliver!, based on Dickens’ novel Oliver Twist. Nancy’s conscience torments her for her role in having delivered the orphan Oliver Twist into the hands of the wicked Fagin and the homicidal Bill Sikes. She and Bet create a diversion by whipping up the tavern crowd into a lively rendition of this song, so that Nancy can spirit the boy off and restore him to his grandfather. Shani Wallis is Nancy, Sheila White is Bet, Ron Moody is Fagin, Oliver Reed is Bill Sikes, and Mark Lester is Oliver.

Here is the finale from Mozart’s last symphony. It is subtitled the Jupiter, after the ruler of the gods in Roman mythology. Presumably the subtitle was inspired by the magnificent fugue that crowns the work. The passage in question begins at 5:24. The Vienna Philharmonic are the performers.

I’ve always loved this song. It’s from one of the many rock operas out there regarding new world orders and the like (kind of like Queensryche’s Operation: Mindcrime). Still a great song.
