I read a ton of “church stuff” as part of my job, and set spiritual reading and scripture for lection divina (currently Acts of the Apostles), but this is what I am reading for relaxation:
With my granddaughter I am reading my way through 2 of our favorite authors, both Newberry winners: Susan Cooper (Latest is Green Boy, a time-travel adventure) and Sharon Creech (latest is Walk Two Moons, which she stopped reading because it was too sad, deals with a child losing her mother). I send mine to her when I finish, and she sends hers to me, so we save money that way. We also read Artemis Fowl in the summer together, she has them all.
For myself, in the last month-Rumpole Bests His Case, latest from John Mortimer; Michelangelo and the Pope’s Ceiling by Ross King; lastest mysteries by favorite authors, try to ration myself to one a week.
